Global Proxy Race Takes Shape

The registration forms have been flowing into Global Proxy Race Control located in Toronto, Canada. Entrants' cars are enroute to scrutineering at the East New York Raceway in Woodbridge, Connecticut in Eastern USA from race teams on 4 continents.

The prototype battle is shaping up to be a pitched inter-squad rivalry between manufacturers Porsche and Ferrari. Both camps have 6 cars each in the premier category of the GPR. This pitched rivalry may very well be the distraction needed to allow a single car entry from any one of the talented garagistes to slip through to ultimate victory in the Prototype class. To date single-car prototype entries include the marques of Chaparral, Chevron, and Lola.

The competition for GT dominance will be fierce. Porsches, Corvettes, and Capris are the weapons of choice. With entries from Ferrari, Jaguar, Shelby, BMW and Toyota also vying for top honours in this class. Only once the Ortmann dust settles this time next year in Toronto will we know who the inaugural GPR champion is.
